2019 Nissan Rogue Towing Capacity and Powertrain Review
The 2019 Nissan Rogue has a towing capacity of 1,102 pounds when properly equipped. It achieves this feat with its standard 2.5L I-4 engine that generates 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.
This engine is paired with an Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission) that keeps you efficient by increasing the number of shift points between the upper and lower limits. With this transmission, you can achieve the following EPA-estimated fuel economy:
- 26 MPG city and 33 MPG highway with front-wheel drive (FWD)1
- 25 MPG city and 32 MPG highway with all-wheel drive (AWD)1
To help you keep your efficiency high, you can operate in Eco Mode, which will adjust your acceleration and A/C settings to conserve fuel. On the other hand, if you want a more dynamic driving experience, you can use the Sport Mode Shifter on the CVT to take control and change gears on demand.
FWD comes standard but if you want a little help with those slippery, snow-covered streets and rough trails, you may prefer to upgrade to the Intelligent AWD System. Engineered to adapt to changing conditions, this performance feature can help you have the traction needed to stay in control.
If you want to enjoy the journey as much as the destination, you’ll need a great infotainment system to keep you entertained on the road. That’s something the Nissan Rogue definitely delivers.
It comes standard with the NissanConnect® 7-inch touchscreen display sitting comfortably in the center stack. This screen is where you can see data like incoming calls and audio streaming information, as well as your preferred navigation app as part of the Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™ function.
Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ fully integrate your favorite smartphone features with your infotainment system so that you can stay connected while inside the cabin.
The Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System and Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant features also come standard. These allow you to wirelessly connect your smartphone to your infotainment system so that you don’t have to miss out on important phone calls or messages during your commute.
Safety Technologies in the 2019 Rogue
To help you have a better picture of your surroundings, the 2019 Nissan Rogue comes with innovative safety technologies. These available Nissan Safety Shield® features include Intelligent Lane Intervention and Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection.
You’ll also have the benefit of a Blind Spot Warning system, which provides a visual alert whenever another vehicle enters your side blind spot. This can help you change lanes much more confidently in crowded areas.
Nissan ProPILOT Assist™ is available for the Rogue, too. Designed to help make your morning commutes on the parkway a bit easier, this automatic cruise control feature maintains a preset following distance, keeps you centered in your lane, and brings the SUV to a stop if needed, based on the traffic conditions.
Best of all, it can even help your vehicle accelerate back up to speed when traffic begins to clear.
Nissan Rogue Interior Specs
The 2019 Nissan Rogue was made with your comfort and family in mind. That’s why its interior includes ample space and legroom.
Here’s a closer look at the interior dimensions you can enjoy with this SUV:
- Seating capacity: 5 passengers
- Legroom (front/rear): 43/37.9 inches
- Trunk volume: 39.3 cubic feet
- Total cargo volume: 70 cubic feet
Of course, the interior of the 2019 Rogue also features numerous amenities to keep you and your entire family comfortable. A few of the features you can find within this SUV include available dual-zone automatic temperature control and heated front seats.
An available Motion-Activated Liftgate can help you load up that 70-cubic-foot cargo volume as well. With this feature, you don’t have to put down what you’re holding to open up the hatch. Simply kick under the rear bumper while the key fob is in your pocket and the liftgate should open automatically.
Interior and Exterior Design
One of our favorite features about the 2019 Rogue is that you have the ability to customize its looks to your liking. Starting with the first impression, you can make a great one with your choice of nine exterior colors.
Choose something soft like Glacier White or Pearl White Tri-Coat. Or, go big with eye-catching colors like Monarch Orange Metallic and Scarlet Ember Tricoat. For a more classic look, you can also choose a color like Magnetic Black Pearl.
On the inside, you’ll have your pick between cloth or leather seating surfaces. The cloth seats come in Charcoal or Almond. Leather seats, on the other hand, come in Charcoal, Almond, or Tan.
Nissan Rogue vs Rogue Sport
Now that you know all about this SUV, you may be curious about the difference between the Nissan Rogue vs. Rogue Sport. The biggest difference is that the Rogue Sport is a more compact version of the Nissan Rogue, making it ideal for fitting through tight off-road passages.
Both SUVs seat five passengers, but the Rogue Sport has a total cargo capacity of 61.1 cubic feet with 22.9 cubic feet of trunk space behind the second row.
The other main difference is the engine. While both the Rogue and Rogue Sport have the Xtronic CVT® and available Intelligent AWD, the Rogue Sport comes with a slightly smaller 2.0L engine that delivers 141 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque. This also makes it less suitable for towing.
However, the Rogue Sport adds in Sport Mode to its steering, making it somewhat more responsive and providing an even more dynamic driving experience.
